OK, I have been reading here for a bit of the trouble some focus's are having as far as killing when coming into a slow idle or stop, then finding it difficult to start again. My sons Jimmy does this, but it also will stammer like your coming to a stop without putting the clutch in. It does it only after it has warmed up, but it is intermittent. We have cleaned the carbon from the EGR are as well as removed the intake and cleaned it out. I just changed the fuel filter on Saturday, and it seemed to be fine, but then he said it started doing it again on Sunday.
I remember one time when it was doing this, it was in the driveway. It was like it was out of time and had a surge to it and a real different smell than normal from the exhaust. was doing it for a bit, then I heard a "click" from the engine and it began to run fin again.
When it acts up on him, if you put it into neutral and give the foot feed a tap, it will run normal again too.
Does a 95 have a TPS? I have read that on the focus that has been the issue. Had my neighbor, an indy tech and tranny guy. He at first thought torque converter, but its to intermittent to be that. If any one has any ideas, I would be most welcome.

find out the static fuel pressure(needs to be a min of 45-50) a 95? is it a gen one vortech? if so id put money on the fuel pressure regulator, it is a pod/regulator/injector unit inside the intake manifold. if you are not handy with the tools id rec a trained mechanic do this as it is a involved job. a spider( as we call it in the industry) can cuse all sorts of problems, misfires,lean/rich conditions,no starts, long crank to start, fuel mileage issues, stalling, rolling idles. the best way to find out is hook a pressure(fuel) guage to the test port( looks simalar to a valve stem) on the fuel rail or hard line goint to the motor(it will be near the drivers side rear of the motor) turn key to KOEO(key on, engine off) you need around 50 psi. turn key to KOEO( key on, engine on) any where from 45-60psi is desired here. if you have good pressure its the spider, if you have low pressure it the fuel pump. see easy peezy lemon sqweezy

Well we think its the TPS. Hooked up a meter, should start at .5 volts and go to 5 volts. If you go a touch past 4.5 volts the circuit goes open (O.L) I just got a new TPS, will be putting in this weekend. Ill be pulling the IAC and giving it a once over as well. Have had the intake off already before to clean the carbon from the EGR and was real careful when putting back together. Was having the issue before cleaning the EGR and thats what prompted the cleaning. Ill let you know after I replace the TPS and clean up the IAC.

The spider (injector mabobber thing) assembly is expensive too. Last time I checked at the auto parts store when I worked there it was close to 300 bucks. People would call and price match us so we must not have been the most expensive price either
