Just wondering what your reasoning is for that?

I think he said that for the same reason he called me a pussy by getting ride of my motorcycle endorsement. :? He just likes to stir things up and get peoples feathers ruffled, heck he lives out in bfe what else is there to do

not pay the extra couple bucks and check a box when re-newing your license, not that I would ever do something like that. I ride motorcycles, and will probably do so exclusively for the next couple years, because I think its a blast, and cheaper than driving a car. Obviously its dangerous, but there are things you can do to minimize the risk. Its still a personal decision though, and needs to be respected

Ok first off, if they fit the SHO engine/transaxle into a Festiva, I'm quite sure it would fit into the Focus engine bay. Granted the SHOGun's where rear mount/mid mount cars but still, they only had X amount of width to deal with. And we know the Foci are wider, right.

Second off, PITA. No joke. For the time and effort you'd have to spend to get the electronics to mesh it is not worth it. You'd basically be pulling the entire OBD-II/EEC-V harness and be switching to OBD-I/EEC-IV. Most every pigtail changes and it's not something where you can just cut/splice to make it work. The sub-systems and branches of the system are different. Scott - referance it to the 4.6 DOHC install in the focus. They had about 500 hours into just programming and wiring, and both those cars where OBD-II/EEC-V.

And then there is the issue of the throw-out bearings in the SHO 5 speed trannys (and probe GT/MX-6). THe T/O does not like high rpm, basically anything above 5,000. I sot one out the bottom of the case and after I sold mine it threw another. Kind of sucks when you now have no core and have to pay the extra core fees. Especially when companies get near $2,000 for a rebuilt unit.

BUT . . .

If you do think at all about doing this you may want to check out Craig Moates ( www.moates.net ), give Vladim or Tom( www.shoshop.com ) a call, look into the TwEECer ( www.tweecer.com) . I have quite a few more links and people I can send you to, but I doubt anyone is willing to do the hack/swap.

Let me rephrase, unless you have a terminator, they are slow, in stock trim, compared to other cars that are out there....

They also weigh in at under 1000 pounds, with a capable driver can do 0-60 in around 2 seconds, and the standing quarter in the 10's.
