The myth is that the ZX3 is clean. But it truly is quite dirty.

Sorry, Miss Clean ZX3.
So, Chalon, you gonna hook me up with the info on how I can get one of those manis?

O.K. stupid parts guy question, It would seem to me that using some sort of shorty header would make more sense for a turbo application rather than what appears to be a restrictive cast iron old school manifold.
I guess that makes the question why use that manifold, other than the fact that it's a Ford designed RS part?

My thought process on this purchase decision is pretty basic. I wanted a bullet proof design for a low boost setup.
No weld/crack worries. No turbo support issues. The RS factor happens to potentially keep the value of the purchase should my world blow up in my face...and I have to sell off.
Would a non-log style be better? Yes, and even better for high boost. When it comes down to it, I want simple and reliable...a la factory setups. If I end up with 170 whp, I'll be thrilled, but off hand, it may very well be in the mid 150's with good torque....the feels like a V6 syndrome.

it sounds like a log style is the best. or thats want tom and ray say.

That's also the reason I'm interested in this manifold (so PM me some info chalon!).
I want something that wont crack and have welds breaking to easily (like SO many aftermarket turbo manis do). The RS is a proven manifold.
For a low power setup on our cars (under 220whp or so), you will honestly not see a noticeable improvement between a log or an egual length manifold. The type of manifold doesn't come into play until you are making BIG numbers. A lot of people run logs, they are cheap and have a whole lot less welds that can break. I would prefer a stock Cast log over an aftermarket one quite honestly, just because they are great quality from the factory and molded to spec, rather then welded by someone.

This is the only one I found. If there was more, I'd be sure to let you know. If I run across another, I will do so.

Nils,
Chuck over at BF can make the mani for under $300.00 if thats a consideration. But you could also have Zurno use his magic Euro parts finding skills and get an RS mani.

rs parts seem to be more expensive
