Be prepared to be pulled over, i got pulled over and ticketed. No more tint for me. They will find a reason to pull you over too. They pulled me over because my license plate was dirty, and I am not kidding.FORDSVTPARTS wrote:35%Redlineracer12 wrote:Looks darkWhat percent is it?

I've been ticketed for mine once, but it was near University and they were just looking for an excuse to ticket me (was actually pulled over for a burnt out license plate light

So what exactly happens when they ticket you? Just a fine or what?Redlineracer12 wrote:I know the feeling.Louis Zerr wrote:Be prepared to be pulled over, i got pulled over and ticketed. The glass in my wifes Windstar is darker than my 35% and it's stock tint, I'd be tempted to go to court on a tint ticket just to see what half-assed explanation they have for it being illegal.

Stock tint is legal, you may have to prove it is stock, but it is legal. I got a ticket, some people just pay the fine and wait for the next ticket. The fine is not cheap, but I'll let Pappy weigh in on that. The other option is to strip it off and have another cop verify that it is legal, which is what I did.FORDSVTPARTS wrote:So what exactly happens when they ticket you? Oh, but it was over a year before i was pulled over. I mean if i were you i'd go get a prescription from my eye doc for dark window tint. You have sensitive eyes don't you?

My question, what if YOU get an approval from your doc saying you need window tint or whatever then let someone else drive your car and they get ticketed? How's that work?

Well hell, We're in great shape then since Officer Pappy can just give us the greenlight on our tint.Louis Zerr wrote:[Stock tint is legal, you may have to prove it is stock, but it is legal. Just look around at all the minivans and SUV's on the road and see how dark they're tinted, mine looks darker in the pics than it really is. I shot it to make it look darker.
And of course I have sensitive eyes,I spend my whole day locked in under these flourescent lights, real sunlight makes me cry

My tint ticket was around 130. And it went towards my insurance as a vehicle violation or some shit. Yeah, my ins. rates went up because of the tint. Pretty cool.
I am going to get a presc. for the window tint from a doctor. They can't prove your eyes are sensitive or anything. My eyes are horrible. Its so nice driving Chromie during the day, just because of the tint compared to the wagon. I'll eventully get my wagon tinted too tho.
And I must note, I've never been pulled over for the tint. When I ticketed for my window tint, it was the nite the unmarked was tailgating me, so I got pissed and while on an exit ramp, I walked away from him. So he pulled me over for that, then gave me the option for the window tint or the speeding. I took the window not knowing that the window tint goes on your ins. record as well.

FYI......if you look at suv's and minivans, the really dark tint is not on the front 2 windows. you can paint your rear windows black with spray paint and they cant do anything to you. once you put the sexy dark tint on your front windows thats when you can get screwed. BTW steve I looked at it at work and it looks great, however it doesnt look like 35. i dont think you will have any problem with coppers bothering you
