alright.
good news and bad news
the good news in.... it sounds fuckin GREAT
easily the best sounding speaker setup I've ever owned.
plays loud and clear w/ my bass cutoff at 50hz for longevity
I'm pleased with my purchases, that's for sure.
the bad news...
I've got some serious alternator noise!!!!
Where should I start looking?
I've tried dinking with the grounding and routing of wire (RCA's and power on separate sides)
I've run many systems and I've never had this problem before.
any input is welcome!
o yea.
and a pic of the molex molestation

check the r/f dampner, it should be on the ........oh wait you haff the dee-tah-dee-teck, you should have a plastic covered metal tab with a gray conector around the ignition some wheres, it is a r/f sponge, if it rusts or cracks you will get a weird climing and falling humm/whine, i have found that a secondary unit is needed for some reasone, but it will always do it on AM.

rewired everything... still makes the noise.
SO
I dug around
turns out the DECK was the problem
the RCA's were improperly grounded internally so I tapped anew ground
PERFECT

where do you enter in the hatch? I was planning on doing the same.

correct. there is a plug in the bottom of the spare tire cubby. but if you run under the car you run the risk of wicking moister in the car and all the elements run havoc on the wiring, also snaging on road debris is a scary thought.

Me too. I'd prefer not to have a live 12v wire running under the car by fuel lines, exhaust parts and such.
