Not in mine. I was able to turn the bolt in the nut, but the bolt is frozen in the steel sleeve in the bushing. No go without destroying that bushing and bolt.focinite wrote:ok, first get a map gas torch and heat the piss out of the nylock nut welded to the rear arm, this will alow you to remove said bolt.
mine came right out, course i had all of 20 k on the odometer when i did mine at work,on the clockFORDSVTPARTS wrote:I'm not even going to try to remove any rear suspension bolts, I don't want to buy control arms.focinite wrote:ok, first get a map gas torch and heat the piss out of the nylock nut welded to the rear arm, this will alow you to remove said bolt. then with car fully, and i mean fully jacked in the rear and on stands( use a 4x4 under the rear sub frame center and be careful not to crack the evap canister) set jack under arm that goes from the center out and remove shock bolt, lower jack and tug spring out. to install cram spring in( this will require swearing and some way to stop the bleeding) jack up and insert shock bolt, you have now installed a rear spring.
you must do that alot to get your "guns" that big, lmaonilly prancing around the shop
Yeah, but the point is that most people don't have the tools on hand or the mechanical ability to do it that way.focinite wrote:oh god!!!!!!!! if you use heat and some time and a shit load of foamy penis-trating oil it will come out. if the bushin is crusty, fuckit!!!! get a urathen replacement and bang the fucker in with a hammer. people must think when a mechanic does things like this we have a delicate touch, fuck no!!!!!!! i cook the fucker out witda torch and press the new sumbich back in with a 5 pound maul!!! you think i got these guns nilly prancing around the shop, no!!!!! when you work on shit it breakes, take my wifes honda......ahhhhhhh the number two strikes again!!!!!!!!!!! a week to do rear struts!!!!! its a 2 hour job!!!!!!! but i had 3 bolts snap and one bushin fag out, so i thought on my feet( actually i was on my back, the car was 6 inches off the ground) so i got my tap kit and i got a bushing that was from a prelude, a few hours of inventing new swear words and the loss of two pints of blood, its fixed.....point is dont get scared till youve done the whole job,and if you fuck sumtin up, stop have a(insert poision of choice) and think how can this be fixed with what i have in my garage.
