OOOOOOooooooo.... :D I like the slightly reflective tint. I am wanting tint for privacy, but I want it to be legal. I will prob. do 50% on the front sides and 35% on the rest. And I will prob. do it in the tint pictured above. ^^^ First things first though...I have to get the Eibach sways and SVT springs installed. Dark Dan will be my next mod. applier after the sways and springs.

   One thing I am slightly concerned about with the SVT Springs and lowering....I take a lot of family trips and I drive my car a lot for those trips...With the SVT Springs, 18's, a bunch of luggage and about 300 pounds of human in the back seat....Is it going to work? Will it be too much for the lowered springs and scrape? If there is concern about that, please tell me and I will not install the SVT springs. Thank you!

Whatever Steve took my money for  I had 1.5" lowering springs in it with 17" wheels wit 215/45 tires. It was tucking tire and I when't to my parents place witch is a two and a half hour drive with no problems.

Monkey-G,

Thanks for the reflective tint reccomendation, I am going to go with that for the most privacy while still being legal (50%).

Everyone else,

I talked with Dark Dan and came up with an agreement on cost and location. He is going to meet me in the cities, possibly at my brother's place in Eden Praire. He said he needs a well-lit double car garage to do the job and that it would take about 2-3 hours to complete. Hopefully my brothers place will work, if not I might be askin' for a favor from someone! I will do the tint in a few weeks or so....hopefully. Thanks for all the advice....AGAIN!! :D :D :D

Allright....I am going to tint my windows with Dark Dan this Saturday if he can meet me at my brothers.

One question, the reflective tint I am wanting to do...is it legal like regular tint is, at 50%? I SURE HOPE SO.

Reflective tints are less legal than normal tint....

from MN statute 169.71:
(a) No person shall drive or operate any motor vehicle required to be registered in the state of Minnesota upon any street or highway under the following conditions:
2) when any window on the vehicle is composed of, covered by, or treated with any material that has a highly reflective or mirrored appearance;

(3) when any side window or rear window is composed of or treated with any material so as to obstruct or substantially reduce the driver's clear view through the window or has a light transmittance of less than 50 percent plus or minus three percent in the visible light range or a luminous reflectance of more than 20 percent plus or minus three percent

I think you'd get noticed a lot more with mirrored windows than just dark ones...

Crappitty crap, CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!!!

Why does tinting have to be so difficult!!! So, I can't tint 35% on my backs and rear b/c I drive a sedan. That sucks!

I have to tint 50% all the way around except the windshield. That sucks too.

I am leaning towards 50% on the front sides and 35% on the backs....should I take that chance or shouldn't I??

Dazzle me with some other more worthwhile $$$ modifications I can do instead...for about the same money I would use to tint. And something that doesn't have so many tiny print laws restricting it!!!

Otherwise I will tint 50/35 and probably get a ticket than a lecture from the wife.

SVT springs for the drop are being installed on Monday....I might be buying a cosworth CAI when dude from FF writes me back. I have rims and tires, so I need other mod ideas.

Jen has 20% all the way around on her orange car... They wont really bother you unless you act dumb. you have nothing to worry about with 35% all the way around even. I wouldnt do the reflective even tho it looks awesome

it's not THAT reflective. ask dan what the luminous reflectance of that shit is. i'd do 50% or more all around.
here's a pic of a car with the same tint at a different angle with not the greatest lighting

Allright. Well, if they are open...I might do 50% all the way around in the full metal tint today. We'll see.

All the more time to think about it....no openings today, maybe Monday afternoon.

I think I got bitten by the modification monkey (if there is such a thing)....I have been wanting to modify like crazy lately....like it's an addiction!! Tint, drop, full cosworth cai, bushings, sways, wheels, tires, brake sets, struts,....if I can't get something that day, I look for the next. 8) 8) 8) 8)

Is there a crazy modification monkey?
