Check spark, Did you have to swap the crank sensor or was it already on the engine?

Ya, I am going to check for spark today.

Steve, I put my old sensor on the new block. It is on and connected. It looks good, but can it be put on wrong somehow or something?

We just checked, and I am not getting spark. :?

Now we just read in the shop manual, that you cannot reuse the crankshaft sensor, which we did. Is that what you were getting at Steve? Looks like I need to get a new one.

Theres a procedure for aligning it and if you don't follow it and use the proper alignment tool it won't work.

Of course the only way to get the tool is to buy a new sensor or find someone that already did, I'd bet your sensor would work if it was set up properly.

Steve, do you know if we need to put the motor to TDC and cam position to install the CPS?

The instructions that came with the sensor say bring the engine to stop. I'm guessing that's the same as TDC?

I'd bet they're referring to the TDC pin as the "stop", The Duratec does use one correct?

yes it does, but we didnt use the pin because it didnt put the motor to TDC. We just used a rod in the sparkplug hole to find TDC.
