Just for reference, my FS tune that I got for my setup, sucked. But then again I never datalogged or had them tweak it.

The true dyno tune I had done made a night and day difference for my car.

But yea, it probably was just the house falling off in combination with the cold temps, to give you some nasty boost spike. Do you have a boost gauge?

Ya, I have a boost gauge, and it had been calibrated, so I know it was accurate. I never saw it peak past 11

Nils, it peaked at 11psi. Which should be safe. Of course on this wot run, I wasn't watching because I had to focus on the RPM's.

Crazy, you turn onto Avocet (stop light), you can only go north. Just take that about 8 blocks to 130th ln, go right, 4th drive on your right, 1256.

Come whenever you want. I'll probably get started around 9ish myself.

i wounder if the impeller didnt frag. with 8k on the engine and being a D-tec i think its something else. i dont know how the fuel system was set up, but my guess is that hose was a referance for fuel and it went wicked lean. hmm its possible you torched the pistons. now just get a bigger charge cooler and you can throw more timing at it. 8)

The hose that came off was just air. It came from the turbo to the boost controller.

I've got a camera, if ya all really want to see this mess. Eh, who am I kidding, I know you guys do.

Damn Chris, sorry to hear. Thats crazy.. I know you hardly push your car but this might be a good lesson. Have fun with the car you have. When something happens to it, you'll realize how you wish you would have done this, or that. I learned that lesson. I babied my focus a lot.. now I'm kinda like I wish I would have just enjoyed the car. Not saying beat the shit out of it. Rebuild that thing into a beast. Next year at HIN... $2.14's everywhere on that car.

So your car saw 20+ psi, because there was no pressure to open the wastegate. That sucks. I'm glad your keeping it. A 2.3 swap would be easy enough. :)
