Thinking of returning my car to more stock...

Well, I am thinking since I got the free tbird, I should tinker more with that, then my daily driver, so, I am thinking about returning my car back to stock and selling off the parts I got.

Here are the parts I got, some installed, some not...
stage 3 ported head, fearra super alloy valves/springs(rated to 12.5mm lift)(never installed on my car), the prev owner made 205whp on a JRSC on a break in dyno run/tune.
sct xcal2
svt intake mani setup(made poor numbers due to lean condition)
crane 0012 cams
ported svt tb.
4-1 race header
2.25" magnaflow cat back

I am thinking I would sell the above, do my suspension, and drop in a low milage motor, possibly keep the exhaust setup.

Discuss?

So your saying that you jumped the gun, got too anxious (sp?) and just needed something with a little more power for the time being? If the parts are on the car just leave them. It's not like you got a great deal on any of them, so you won't make any money and I doubt you would come close to breaking even. Just don't beat on it and you'll be fine.

i would be interested in the throttle body, every thing has its pros and cons.....

t-bird

heavier, not as easy to mod

focus, less displacment, lighter,

just my .02.... lol

Focus, cost much more to mod.

Tbird, cheaper to mod, more potential, don't give a shit if it breaks and leaves me stranded, I have the car and truck to fall back on.

Focus, parts are expensive for small gains, bought it primarly as daily driver and to have a nice sounding stereo, gets drven a lot, since I got it in oct, I put easy 15k on it. I'd like to get back to 30+ mpg and reliability.

The TB would go with the manifold and all the parts needed for the conversion.

I know I will take a loss on the parts, and like I said, I will still do the suspension on the slocus.

John I am calling you now, better have service lol.

Man I love cell phone's. I don't get service at home with any service, :? . I am home right now scott.

and . . . um . . . I get 30mpg with my car (or last I drove it I did). I know it is not running properly. Get it running well and you'll like it alot more, and it will be exactly what you want (without selling good parts). Maybe you have to spend the money and get the svt swap tune from Ray. I don't know . . .

I am thinking dump the svt manifold and go to the 2k mani and egr, keep the cams and exhaust and call it a day. I should be able to hit 30+mpg again, and, once that happens, I get more money to spend on the bird project. Reliable daily driver is more important then a hot-rod focus.

I have the squashed port stocker. I know you got the 2k and a larger TB...maybe we should discuss a trade? :)

I am home all night if you where bored and wanted to go for a drive, I am watching madison.
