All Opinions Welcome!

Hey all.
as many of you might have seen, I recently got myself a new car. I got sick of old cars... so my '07 Focus is going to be on the cutting board! This is where I will document EVERYTHING from beginning to end. Be warned, I LOVE picture whoring.

I plan to glass two subs in the hatch, w/ the amps sunk into the false floor covered with clear plexi. Hopefully my skills will shine here. It's going the be the biggest project I've ever undertaken and there's going to be allot of blood, sweat, and tears shed here. o... for now, I am gathering everything... waiting for that thermometer to rise so I can begin the project!

My System will be run as follows:

Deck: Alpine CDA-7894 ($320 way back when)
Sub Amp: Xtant 1001dx ($250 via FGF classifieds)
Front Amp(s): pair of Xtant 301a's ($100/ea via FGF Classifieds)
Midbass Amp: Xtant 2100b ($40 via Focus Forums)
Front Speakers: Alpine Type X 6.5's ($157 via Local shop)
Midbass rear fill: dunno yet... maybe none but I'll have an amp
Subwoofers: 3 Boston Acoustics Comp 1200's ($125 via CraigsList)

Grand total: $1092 + misc wiring, fuse blocks, sound deadener = ~$1,200
MSRP on everything: ~$5,000+ misc

Thus far, I've got the Deck and front speakers installed.
the Boston subs are in my living room
the Xtant's are all in the mail some time this week.
and I dont know what I want to power with the 2100b yet... maybe I'll trade it for some wiring or something.

So... here's what's done so far! (not alot)

Stockness!

after a few days of owning the car and months of being in the market for a good set of components for cheap... I found a deal I couldnt pass on!
these bad boys. w/ 2-year replacement warranty for less thank wholesale cost!

Found the perfect spot for them

Didn't take long for me to hate the stock radio. so I threw in my favorite deck!
The alpine CDA-7894 I bought Freshman year in highschool on clearance!! I LOVE this deck. it's never let me down! I've had it in 5 vehicles now. lol
I've got AUX running out through the pocket into my Ipod now and my phone charger hard-wired to the cig lighter coming out as well... keeps all the wires out of the way. for anybody wondering, that's the Metra install kit from Ultimate Electronics

Since I blew my Budget on amps... I had to find some decent SQ subs on the cheap... so shipping them was out of the question. Craigs List to the rescue!
Got a three-pack of Boston Comps which will suffice for now. I'll only run two of them because wiring three just wont work well (2ohms each) so the two will get about 500-watts RMS each from the Xtant 1001dx.

That's it for now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll update when I take lots of pics of my pretty amps after I hit them with Mothers Aluminum Polish!

You can also check out my Cardomain page for more pics and info.

I think I have all the wiring and shit I need... maybe some battery terminals are in order.

I am also looking at picking up a third Xtant 301a and running 3 of them instead of the 1001dx and amping my components with an Xtant 2100b which I just ordered.

W00T!

like I said before sweet, but what are you doing with the stock radio?

The stock radio is sitting behind my drivers seat. lol

I'll probably Ebay it to offset some of my costs. if I can't get a decent penny for it, I'll just keep it and swap it in when I move onto a new car in a few years.

Despite the 0 degree weather...
I installed it... some of it... ok, the wiring and the subs. and my old amp I had laying around.
lol. I am too impatient to wait for spring. when spring comes, it will definitely be done up right... for now, I just needed my bass back!
