hey all.
I am planning on developing an engine cover for my '07 Focus.
It will likely be made from 1/16th inch Stainless steel or larger material.
it will be a single piece design which will cover the valve cover and intake manifold leaving it all exposed from the sides so there are no heatsoak issues.
The item could be polished, brushed, painted, or powdercoated to your liking.

Who would be interested in one of these? I am designing it for the 2.0L D-tec. If there is enough interest, I could also make them for FI applications and the 2.3 if mine won't work with them.

Pricing will be from $35-$50 (I will have to check on production cost on my end) but I will try to keep it as affordable as possible.

WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN SUCH AN ITEM?

I got my prototype done. carboard FTMFW! I'm heading inside to get some CAD drawings done.

*UPDATE*
I drew up some preliminaries in AutoCAD and showed them to my dad. He will be bringing my files to his programmer at his work to get a prototype CNC'd for me. I will let everyone know where we stand tomorrow or some time. This is kind of exciting!

I would be interested but would need to see the final product, the top side of our engines with the "electrical tape" wrapped wiring harnesses are so ugly. What kind of shop does your dad have Deag?

he doesnt have a shop of his own. He's a Milwright foreman with the local union and has alot of stuff to use at wok, including TONS of scrap plate steel and a CNC router to cut it with.

I don't expect people to buy now or anything. just seeing if anybody would be interested because I can have alot of these made. I will get as many pics as I can (high quality pics) when I get the prototype in tomorrow.

if I had a duratec I'd totally want one. I really think these will sell like hotcakes if they look as good as my mental image

thats the one thing i dont like about the duratecs. there are 2 many wires and things going over the engine.

the guy that programs the CNC was on vacation last week and my dad just left for a hunting trip for the rest of this week.... damn. I'm sick of waiting. it'll be worth it though.

any update on these i would want one and chuck would take one also.

hurry i hate the look of our motors with all them wires a nice looking cover would be awsome.
