Spring has got to get here sometime, right? Friggen snow!
I've narrowed down the new biters to these 4. They will be DD with 2 track days at BIR this summer. Right now it's pretty much between the Hankook Ventus RS2 and the Falken RT615

Also being considered is the Kumho MX and the BFG gForce Sport

Looking to get 1 season out of them, probably 8,000 miles. If they can last 2 summers, that'll be a bonus.
Anyone have experience with any of these?

I ran the Kumho MX's the last two summers.
I believe I got approx 15k miles out of them, before they corded out.
They are a nice tire. Quite, and EXTREMELY sticky.
Now I've switched to the Azeni's (RT-615) for this season. They are apparantely even stickier (from what I can tell, I borrowed a set of wheels with them for a bit last year and ran them) and just as nice to drive.
I am putting Azeni's on both sets of my wheels for this year.

The Azeni, Kooks and MX's are all good tires.
I've never ran on Kooks, I picked up one 14' tire for my BBS, but never ran them again, since I switched to 16' Kosei's with Azenis for autoX.
But from all that I've heard, Azenis are good when its dry. When it comes to rain, the Kooks are Best. Then the MX's are good tires as well. I'd run them again, I've still got a set with half tread in my garage that I'm gonna use this summer for DD.
But all are good for what you need. The Azeni's will get less miles tho, and can get alittle wierd in rain, while the other two are alittle more predictable in the rain.
So there is give and take to all tires.
Hope you got something out of my random tire babbling...LOL

Thanks for the feedback guys!
I'm liking the Kooks for the fact that they sound like they're good in the wet. With Pappy running the 615's it would be a good comparo for tire life. The BGF's are out. It's between the Kook, Falken, and Kumho's.

I have a similar BFG, the KDW2. Which is the best tire I've ever driven in the rain/wet. But it costs more, and really stinks when you spin off the line...

Looked at the KDW, but yeah, it's out of my $$$ range. It's going to be a tough decision.

I think I'm going with the MX this spring for a summer tire.

Good choice. I liked mine. Pretty decent for daily driving and autoxing.

I'm thinking it'll be good for traction (which I definitely could use) and still last a few seasons. That's what I was going for, that and something that is refined enough to take it on road trips

I ran a set of kooks on my old focus and wasn't happy with them the just seemed to soft of a side wall for my taste, I'd say get the Falkens.

The RS2 Hankooks are on the way! They're gonna have to redo the Zumbro Falls to Wabasha road 'cause I'm gonna tear it up Friday's & Sunday's going back and forth from the river. Of course I'll stay in my lane (using all of it...haha).
