I had bought Ted's SVT "Redlined600"

What it needs is a Sinc Row on Fourth Grear "Grinds going into 4th from 3rd and 5th" If your easy on it you can slip in in with no problem. Also is there anything else that I should or anybody suggest's to do since the tranny will be out. I do plan on putting a SC on by next summer. Just wanted to know if anybody knew of a good Tranmission shop. Right now I just want to get it into good running order and a little body and paint work. Not that it isn't in good running order right know. I have been driveing it most of the day today. So much more fun than the ZX5!!

Thanks Everybody!!
Pat

I hate to have to tell you this but you can't get any internal transmission parts for the Getrag, Ford don't sell em and apparently neither does BMW for the Mini.

You might try Al Ficker at 651-216-0899 to see if he has a used trans available, He's a good guy. Most of us have gotten used Focus parts from him.

If you just need a good mechanic I'd suggest Lutz automotive in Hugo, Vince the owner was a tech at Tousley for about 20 years. He's a great guy and a very good mechanic.

That kinda stinks... That you mentioned the mini I thought that I have heard that, that trans is swapabled with the SVT. Is that true? Also I will give Al a call I met him at the IHOP meet really nice guy. I was also told about that shop in Hugo. Thanks Steve! You'll be seening me soon for SVT Parts!! Just to warn you.

PS. I did a code read today at Checkers and pulled up P1518/ Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open. It did run high when I left Teds but hasen't done it since then. I will undo the battery tomarrow to clear the code and see if it comes back on..

I believe the Mini has different gearing so it won't drive the same with that trans, other than that I have no idea what else would be different.

If you're getting an IMRC stuck open code your IMRC actuator is probably failing.

How would I go about fixing the IMRC? Or can it be fixed?

If you wanted... I believe it wouldn't be to much work to do a 5spd swap.

You could just switch over the needed sensors and such and put a MTX75 (better trans IMO) in the car. It would be a cheaper overall alternative also.

You can only do this if you put in a Torsen/Quaife at the same time though 8)

Al does have a Trans.

As for the IMRC as far as I can tell or have heard I will need that also.

As for the Clutch.. What kind should I put in since it will be apart. I might do a Charger but I do not have that set in stone yet. :?

Anything else I should do at this point?

Thanks For the help,
Pat

Theres a little more to it, You need the trans, Axles, shift cables, shifter assembly and maybe a few more bits.

dont forget the pass side hanger and bracket and you will need to modify the reverse light wiring. 8)
