anyone else have throttle body sticking issues?

I put on my "new" stage 2 throttle body on this afternoon, and it tends to stick a bit at idle, although it seems to be improving a bit. Is this a fairly common problem with aftermarket TBs, or is it just me? I figure if it doesn't get better in a week or so, I'll pull it out and sand the edges of the throttle plate a bit to loosen it up.

Please don't sand anything, If anything just go back to your stocker for a short time and I'll get you a fresh one when they come back from machining.

The guy already has them and I should have them back in a week or so.

I'd rather just get you a known good one and send that one back for reworking.

I might just stick with it...it feels like its breaking in. Is there any chance you could send my original one in to get machined, or the contact info for the guy? I wouldn't mind having a spare, or sell it.

Oh, and I reset my ECM, and cleaned the MAF sensor, and the idle settled down to normal and my CEL went away...even with the sticking, I couldn't be happier.

Steve tried one on my car because he had an issue previously with one what we found out that day was that the throttle plate was slightly off center and all it needed was to be loosened and adjusted slightly, end of problem. The issue was not noticeable off the car when operating it but with the slower closing of the plate during normal operation the plate would stick a little due to the misalignment. The clearance holes in the plate allow for some movement on the screws/shaft which is a normal occurance and ocassionally one may need a little tweak. I would suggest that if you plan on trying to adjust it take it off the car a screw down the manifold wouldn't be fun.

The screws on this one can't come out, they have crimped ends. However I doubt that the plate could be adjusted with the TB in the car anyways because of the way it moves around when the screws are loose.

This one has a slightly different issue than the one we tried on yours, We'll make sure it gets handled though.

I actually took care of it after work...turns out the idle adjustment screw just needed about a 1/2 turn, so it rests mainly against the screw instead of having the plate jammed in the housing at idle.

It was kinda funny, my girlfriend gave me crap for buying it, right up until the point that I nailed it in 1st.

If only it was always that easy to stop people whining...
