so because I am very scattered brained I bought my focus with an automatic transmission. I really wish I had gotten a manuel. is it worth it to switch to a manuel transmission? Random question I know. lol

It can be done but there is alot of work involved. I would just stick with the auto.

I didnt think I was gonna be able to modthe car at all but things change and now I wish I would have gotten the manual but I wasa little worried about screwing itup from shifting wrong and having to replace the transmission...soooooo.

You can always trade it in.... Naw mod away with it there might be a shift kit available for it but those always made me secptical. There is always the next car

Most of my cars have been manual.

Shoot a PM to Rallyracer here and see what he has to say about auto's.
He's built them and seems to be very knowledgeable.

With the auto you can get a performance valve body and even a stall converter with other goodies. Stick with what you got

if you have a good doner car the swap is cake. i did the same thing as you but got tired of the auto real fast. i cant remember the name of the company but they specialize in ford trannies. they offer a full atx for the gen 1 focis called the pedator and terminator, its like 3 grand before core so in the long run its like 1500 bucks for a auto that handles 500 flbs and has a stall as high as 4500 rpm.

man i wish i remembered the name

I wish I had gotten my wagon with a auto...but I could'nt find one...
You'd probably better off sticking with what you have, or trading the car for a manual.

I have an Auto myself which I got before I learned the manual. I have cams and all bolt ons. It's a blast to drive. Lentech is one of the transmission companies. There is another but there cost is threw the roof. Doing the valve body and torque converter would be a good start. I have a SCT tuner that firms up the shifts a little. If you are die hard there are strong internal clutch packs from Alto for sale too.

manual >>> auto
sell it and buy a manual. It's 1000x better in every way. At least for me, driving a manual isn't that much different than driving an auto, until I pay attention to what's going on. My right hand and left foot automatically shift for me
