I wanted to do the in thing and list my mods. Consider it the benefit of hosting the site.

Someone musta realized that they can indeed make parts on the cheap from one of my first threads...congrads on getting dirt under the nails.
You can pick up the flanges you need from jcw(jc whitney). I don't recall the price off hand...I need to make my flex pretty quick here also....and find someone with a wire feed welder...

Would it be possible just to re-use the old flanges? Just cut the tube and grind it flat.

Not if your going with a larger diameter flex, the inside diameter (the hole) of the flange is the limitiing factor. Flanges aren't that hard to come by, I've got and email address of a guy up in canada that could mass produce the flange for cheap. He was going to make all the flanges I needed for my old turbo project that I was planning for the SPI. I could have gotten all the flanges I needed for under $50 shipped.

I believe the dirt under my nails could be from the rest of the things I've done to my car. Perhaps you haven't seen my mods list, but my parts didn't magically appear installed. I've actually had this flex section since June, I've just been slacking on getting it done.
