I wouldn't care if the paint came off. Then my insurance would pay for my two tone paint job instead of it coming out of my damn pocket in spring...

They would give you what it would cost to give it a shitty maaco grade paint job, not what it would cost for anything fancy, its replacement cost that plays a role, and, you will still have to pay your deductable, and, your rates go up. I asked the insruance agents a lot of "what if" questions after the accident. Pretty much, it wouldn't be worth it.

you have to pay the deductible but the law states that you can take your car anywhere you want to have it repaired. the insurance company is not allowed to dictate where your car goes for repair.

And they can also send the car to a differant shop for a quote, also, an adjuster looks at it.

My friend has had to go thru the shit, all it is, is wipe the areas down with prep-all, and spray bomb it, a few years later, it will all flake off and you are back to square one.

After my car got hit, I took it to the body shop that I wanted to do the work. They gave me a quote. I then showed the quote to the claims adjuster, and he pretty much went by that.

I sure am

The point I am trying to drive home is that the insurance company is not going to pay for your new fancy ricer 2 tone paint job, they will cut you a check, after your deductable come out of it for the damage to be repaired, and, even then, your insurance still goes up and its not going to be enough to really take a bite out of the cost of the new paint job after the deductable and rate increase. You figure that being its a single color and no chrome/graphics, the shop will prob quote you about 500-800 depending on how severe the damage is. Cut out your deductable, and then add in your rate increase. Was it worth it? If you say yes, then your a little dee-dee-dee. I know for an accident, it takes 3 years of no accidents/tickets from my company before they go back down.

IMINHELL

. . . and this entire post is here for what?

To show off the childish activities of some 14 - 15 year old girls. I hope that you realize that you preformed and admitted to vandalism. Sure this is the internet but still not a wise move. Maybe you should spend more time with you BF rather than shrink rapping his car while on some acid/crank induced binge. Mindless nonsence gets people hurt. That means you have to think more than 5 minutes in advance with what you are doing. What if the paint peeled, or you scratched it or broke a mirror off. There is no such thing as carefull vandalism.

Pappy - if this is the kind of "love" that you GF shows you, well . . . boot and curb are my only sugestions. What else is she willing to do for your attention? You seem like a decent guy and I think this childish chick is below you, you can do better.
