I think i have a stucked TB. when i step on the pedal and rev it up, it will stays high (3-4k). it feels like the cruise control is turned on or something (although it's not). I have to pop the hood up..played with the TB abit and then it will come back to idle.
when i'm on the road, if the rpm is still at 2-3K and disengage the clutch then the rev will never come down. In order to take it down, i'll have to wait till it reaches about 1k before i engage the clutch then the rpm will stays at about 1k (idle). Seems to me like the plate never got closed perfectly and still leaking air into TB.

what do you guys think the problem might be? dirty TB? the car has cruise control though so i dont know if that is the problem.

I'd take it off and hose it down with a can of carb cleaner, go to wal-mart, its $1.14 a can for the super tech brand. Then, get some 3-in-1 house hold oil and put a few drops in the pivot points.

I dunno, that seems out of the ordinary for sure. I do know that setup can have problems with a slight hanging rev. Nicks Aerocharged setup with the 65mm FC TB always has a hanging rev, everytime you shift it hangs while your shifting and doesn't drop down till the clutch comes out... I always thought it was weird driving his car. Ask him, I think he may have fixed it.

my car still does it

does the revs go down if you leave the clutch pushed in for awhile? or would it hang for an endless time?

I'd try to adjust that screw to make sure its closing all the way. These FC TB's have always been a bitch. I think IMINHELL has one...

There are 3 positions on it for the TPS to screw into.

Yup I got the FC 65 on my bomber too. Seems everyone but me has a problem with hanging revs *snickers*.

I believe your problem has more to do with a vacuum leak. Pull the TB off and do as Scotty said (soak it down with carb cleaner), also spray a shit load down the IAC port (these like to gum up real bad), toss that cheesy TB gasket out; use some type of silicone gasket maker instead (and use alot, fill the holes in the manifold base, I used VersiChem Mega Black). That is the process I used a while back and have yet to have a problem, 3 years and counting.

Things may change though. I recently found out that my TPS is having issues. I have had a TPS low input voltage problem for a while. I am going to put a new one on today and log some more. The computer is running in a sort of limp home mode right now. My throttle position is based on air flow; closed, part throttle and wide open throttle. I do not see WOT until after 3500 rpms. I'll update this if anything changes.

Oh and if you have a "sticky" TB try using a Dremel and "knife edging" the throttle plate. I'm still working on sizing out new shaft bearings/seals too.
