I have street glow 100w super white bulbs...Lastnight my driver bulb went out so this morning i went to check it and found that once again for some reason the connection harness from the wires to the pins on the bulb had melted!!!!.....has anyone else had this happen, or know why it happens?...atleast it's still under warranty but alittle worried about the posibility of a small fire in time...

the reason is that the stock wireing isnt rated for 100watts. I've been told the max they can handle at a safe rating is 55w - 65w, I personally have the 55/60watt Hella HIP head lamps I was gonna go with the H4 80/100watt lamps but I was told by many mecahnics, ford reps, and even BatInc that you need to wire in high rated relays to be able to run bulbs that high of wattage.

hope this helps,
Josh

I actually had the same problem happen in my stock fog lights...the dealership had no idea why it happend and replaced the wiring harness and bulb. Wasn't an issue for wattage for these, but it still is a pain in the ass.

yea, but again in all honesty the wiring in the focus for the headlights is just shit, if you plan on doing anything I would recomend wireing in some relays and get a direct feed off of the battery to power the head lights and fogs.

Alright guys....here's a lesson...dont be dumb like me and put 100w bulbs into the headlights with out some sort of relay as umdivx had mentioned above...this dumb mistake costed 240.00....i would have rather spent 240.00 somewhere else..but gotta see at night...well maybe!!!
