Right now i have the stock 15 inch rims with a 60 series tire. if i get 17's what series tire would io have to run to compensate the size difference? im thinking a 40 series is right.

There is alot of things that factory into this.
Rims Size, Tire Brand, Width, Height, Tire Model.
But typically you'll be pretty close with a 40.
215/45 is stock on SVT's.

A 40 series is right but gives a horrendous ride, Go for the 215-45-17. Good handling and a minimal effect on the speedo.

is the car lowered? If so the 215/45/17 may cause some rubbing based on the offset of the wheels you are getting and the amount your car is dropped.
My car has rubbing in corners at speed and i am running the 215/40/17, but that is mostly due to the drop and my wheel offset.

There is photographic evidence of rubbing occuring while you were driving, Nils was involved.FORDSVTPARTS wrote:Thats mainly just on the drivers side of your car though isn't it?Louis Zerr wrote:is the car lowered? thats the size I got... I ended up with some Toyo Proxes4 that I've been really happy with. They're a high performance all season tire. Well, as high performance as an all season can get anyways

I had Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S all seasons and they were really nice, I have Kumho Ecsta ASX's now and I like them quite well also.
The Kumhos have not see snow yet though so we'll see.

I'm running Kumho Ecsta ASTs in 205/45-17 (stock suspension as far as I know). I haven't had them rub at all and it looks like there's probably enough room for a 215/45, but I can't be sure without actually having them on the car. The ASTs aren't bad in snow, unlike the Supra 712s on my XR. I ran the ASTs all last Winter. I'd still like a snow tire, but they did the job.

I am running Kumho ASX 215-45-17's with no rub at stock height, but now with the FRPP suspension and resulting drop I will rub if I hit a substantial dip otherwise no problems.

I'm on 215-40-17 with about a 2" drop. I RARELY rub. I'm planning on them getting pushed out another 5mm next year, so some fender rolling will be in order though.
DB told me I can't lower my car anymore
It doesn't really even get on the dyno as it sits, haha.
