Those damn little clips on the fuel filter.......
Changed my fuel filter this weekend. Need to know the size of the clip on the evaporative emission pipe. Mine broke and I checked NAPA and O'Rielly locally, and they said Ford only had 2 sizes of clips. Well nether fit the evaporative emission pipe, so I had to use a Zip tie on it. Seemed to be the same as on the fuel clips once I got it locked down and there is the same amount of play on it as on the fuel filter. If anyone knows the size of the clip and best place to get one, I would like to know. Thanks

It's part of the fuel line, You can't buy the clip from Ford.

My advice (for what its worth)....Ed_d wrote:So, seeing as thats that, will my nordic fix do the trick on that or should I replace that line, and how difficult is this going to be?
Just have two zipties (to double up security). Then just watch for leaks, if it holds and isn't leaking I personally wouldn't worry about it.

I would just leave it then.Ed_d wrote:not enough room for 2 in the holder, or i would have added the second. no leaks no lights. the evaporative emission pipe seems to be more like a vent or vacuum line from what i can tell.

The consensus I have had from a couple of other ford techs as well. If the CE light comes on, Ill address it then. Not sure as to why the document on myfordfocus.com says to remove this line anyway, dosen't get in the way of removing the fuel filter at all.

its the bigger green one? where did it break? basicly the zip tie methode will work as long as it is locked inbetween the to raised areas on the male end. the best way to fix it is get the short( and cheap) section up at the fire wall(sorry the flame barrier or what ever ford calls it) gank the clip out with a pick.
and snap it in at the damaged end.

what color is the clip? white or green. evap is green and fuel is white or yellow. if its the fuel clip, go buy the short line (the one that goes from the filter to the hard line,it has clips on both ends, the one you remove to get the filter out, not the one that stays in and runs above the tank) this way you have an extra for the next time you break it. if its the green one, you can buy the short line for the valve at the fire wall( same clip) . alls you need to do is pop the clip out of the line and install( it will snap into place) it in the needed spot.Ed_d wrote:No, its the one under the tank. Black thin-wall plastic tube.
