I had this problem the other day.

I noticed my car cutting out everytime I would give it a little gas. When I pushed in the clutch it Died but started back up, I just had to keep giving it a little gas to keep it going.

It runs fine now but my engine light has been on since then.

My gas cap was tight..
I do have a CAI Cosworth Could water or moister have gotten into it?
Or possibly bad gas? "Not me"

I say don't worry about it unless it happens again. I have had one of my Foci die kind of like that from a couple of different sensors. One was the wires going to my relocated o2 sensor were chewed up and shorted and some were not connected to the sensor anymore. The ecu does now like getting odd readings from the o2 sensor. The other time was from my head temp sensor going bad. It would send signals that the engine was getting too hot and put it into a limp mode or something. It was a noticeable thing that the sensor was bad since my temps would go from normal to super hot in less than a second, which it would be very hard to heat that chunk of metal that fast without having other major issues.

So I say just see if it happens again before worryung about it. Either that or check out the code and see if it was anything obvious.
