Ok....I just bought a VIS Carbon Fiber hood and it comes with a hood latch receiver. It bolted on great but it won't close :? I adjusted the "hood bumpers" by the head lights all the way down and that didn't do a dang thing. I compared the length of the stock OEM receiver to the VIS reciever and the VIS is about 1/4'' shorter....

How do I make this work??

Should I elongate the 2 holes that the latch bolts go into so I can raise the latch?

Thanks in advance

Create a metal picture   :? Fine...I'll post them tonight for you....However I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for. The VIS hood simply has a shorter reciever on it there for the hood bottoms out before it closes so it can't latch. I have to somhow raise or adjust the main latch that the VIS hood reciever go's into.

you might have to make a shim to put on the hood, so it drops down the "loop" part of the latch. because there isnt alot of room down in the latch area.

IMHO....hood pins ruin the beauty of the hood. There has to be a way to make it work without them....hopfully :?

Not if you get really bright ones with 5 feet of fishline holding them to the car so they don't get lost...

Those are a good idea on a track car, That way if you drive out on to the track and the pins aren't in someone will notice them dangling fro the front of your car.

My dad left them off his car once a long time ago and got hit in the top of the helmet by his hood when it flipped up.

Now when the hood is removed the clips are always put into the pins so you can't put the hood on without removing the clips.

I don't think it's bolted on, He said it's bonded into the hood. Unless I misunderstood him.
