Well since I am just sitting around wasting time I figured I show you what is coming up. I ordered some 15" wheels and tires. I received one on Saturday and the rest should be here any minute. Here is the one up close to its future home.

My take is, if he's being clever, that it's more of an old school deal not sure though. Generally a larger tire with more sidewall and back in the day we would be sporting raised white letters as well on our RWD muscle cars. Then again they may just be some new wheels for his old Focus.o2designs wrote:Why a 15? Winter wheel?
What did you have before?

Crappy roads, I don't want to bend my 17's. I drive it about 70+ miles a day and i am tired of dodging potholes. That and the set up only cost me about $30 more than just new 17" tires. And for winter 15" are much cheaper.
Oh and yeah this is something new for my old car.

Seriously though, I like the look of a fatter sidewall. If I ever have any extra money I'd like to get 16's for my SVT, I just like the way they look.

This is why I want 16's, this car just looks badass.

I love Rota's, Slips and Grids are the two that get me every time.

UPDATE: Haters be jealous. This fat man needs fat tires. And um, I don't get to drive on nice freeways, The best road i get to drive is Highway 5 east of Waconia. I took hwy 10 near Chaska and about blew 2 of my 16's (old winters) on a "bump" that went the whole way across the road.

I like the rims and I'm sure the extra sidewall is cushy on the tushy.

Nice job. I'm a big fan of the smaller tire/rim combo with respect to less weight. Much less expensive to achieve that goal. Gotta have the drop to pull it off though. You guys with more ponies got a little more wiggle room before the weight starts messing with performance.

hear that! I just switched down to 15"s myself. Cheaper tires, little better mileage, better ride... less grip
