I was looking through the internet for a new background on my computer when I came across god himself in the form of a picture. This is the sexiest picture I've ever seen!

That picture I took with my Canon Rebel XTi and my new Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens. I also have a Panasonic Lumix point and shoot 7.1MP and 10x optical zoom that takes excellent pictures, just lacks in manual options. I have also heard good things about Canon's point and shoot cameras. Things I look for in a digital would be MP, Optical Zoom (digital zoom is pretty worthless it's basically the same thing as enlarging your picture on the computer), LCD screen size, manual features, and overall feel. Good manual features would be things like ISO speed, aperture size, shutter speed. Also Image stabilization comes in real handy when you start zooming in on stuff.

That's probably way more than you wanted to know  I bought my camera from newegg.com

Thanks for the info on that about the only thing I know about a better piture is to go up in MP or at least I think.... The size I would like to go with would be at least 8.0MP

I think you did a pretty good job on explaining things for me just to get started
