The snake bit me hard recently. I "invested" in some new Taylor Thundervolt wires (not digging the gold lettering on black wires, but ok), Plustar plugs, and a treatment of CerMet. Last weekend I did an oil change with Ford's synthetic blend 5-20, tossed in the plugs and wires, cleaned my ITG panel (finally), and on Wednesday applied the CerMet. I had a full tank and drove around like normal (a/c on...not trying to hypermile or be too lead footed) and was on par for about 360 for the tank (atx).

Filled up a second time, driving normal one again, and I'll have 150 at the 3/4 full mark, on par for 385-400. If I hypermile it (will have that opportunity soon, I should easily hit 400 (I've only done this once). She pulls a touch harder and the torque is up a notch as freeway driving in OD is peppier. I won't be sold till I see 400 though. Guess we'll see.

Gold on black wires?

I think the highest I've ever gotten outta my wagon with paying attention was around 350.

350-400??? You're both spoiled. The BEST even in my SVT is barely 300, average is 240 around town.

Of course I don't drive like a little old lady either 8)

You do realize that the MTX actually has better gearing for highway driving than the Getrag right?

    um my last trip down 169-60 was at 70-75 after around a 300 mile trip i burnt just less than a 1/2 tank, with my frakin-svtined car. i use royal purp oil, air ma tyres to 34psi......hmmm you have that defuser thingy right? how far under the rear bumper does it extend? i ask cus im doing some research on racing aero and how it helps fuel economy, think about it,one way to win a race is to stay on the track...right...ok so if you cant grip the track, you lose, if you have to refuel all the time you lose. race cars have a good mix of grip aero and slip aero. i want a full belly pan ,a good lip splitter, a good rear defuser and a rs or bigger duck tail. 8) that will help its wind signiture a lot.

Best milage I have seen is 31mpg with the SVT & 36mpg with the ZX5 with the 2.0 Duratec 5spd.

What speed on the highway?

The best mileage I've seen is 31 stuck in 60 mph traffic with no passing opportunities, the second half of that trip I got 27.5 with the cruise set about 80-85 on I94.

It doesn't seem to matter which tune either because I've gotten almost the same highway mileage with the stock Ford tune and my custom tune.

My custom tune may give worse mileage in town though, Virtually all my commuting is stop and go city driving. I almost never take the freeway unless I'm on a trip.

I usually get 245 - 250 on ethanol. Though I think my tune and/or o2 sensors are messed up. ...and I don't let it get much below a 1/4 tank.

Update: Driving normal, a/c, blah, blah, blah I'm at 200 on half a tank. One too many deep pedal hits. I need to be pushing at least 225 at half a tank to give me any hope of 400. I will finish this tank off on Monday and will attempt to squeeze out the other 200. Will be close.

well i switched to amsoil 0w-30 Signature series oil about 10 to 15k miles ago and this stuff really made my mileage jump up a bit, im consistently seeing 300+ per tank now. Also when i got 360 was right after i switched to my new oil and it was all highway pretty much at 70-75.

I was really surprised on the jump in mileage from the amsoil 10w-30 to my 0w-30, you guys should try it if you haven't yet!
