rear shoes

got any tips for removing the rear drum on the drivers side. i got 2 of the four bolts out of the hub but the one 2 closet to the front of the car are hard to fit a socket and a wrench in. the one above the brake line is a little b***h. thanks

pop the cap off the center of the drum there is a nut in there that has to be taken of in order to take the drum off.

Technically you're not supposed to remove the drums that way, he's pulling them off as the manual says to do it which is by unbolting the spindle.

Personally I've done it by removing the big center nut but it can be an absolute nightmare getting them off that way, if theres ANY corrosion or rust you'll destroy the drums pulling them off.

Swivel socket and a long extension. I usually bend the brake line a little to fit the socket on, but after that its a piece of cake

Funny, I've always done it that way, on many different focuses and I've never had any troubles. Oh well, I will keep doing it the way I know, the right way sound like a pain in the ass.

it is but isn't. the first time i did it i forgot bout the sensor in one and riped out the wire. my casr was down for 2 days searching and going to get the part. northfield sold me somthing for the front, so i had to return it and go to AV the next day.

i was thinking of bending the brake line a little bit but i thought there would be a better way to accomplish that. i got the passenger side off by removing the hub nut and 4 bolts. so is the drum pressed on to the spindle?
