My brakes don't seem to be quite what they should be, so I bought new Ford rotors & pads from Steve. My car has 62,000 miles on it, but I am pretty easy on the brakes.
When I checked, the rotors seem fairly worn, about .870" thick (I believe that is below minimum - would someone please confirm?), but the front pads seem very good (minimum .210" on the left, inside pad).
Anyway, is replacing the pads necessary? I don't want to be a penny pincher - I'm just wondering.

If you are doing the rotors do the pads. Otherwise you could run into wear irregularities that will give you problems and pre mature wear.
