The pic is on the M-5200-D23C kit, which is what the box is labeled. Every pic I've found of the kit has that pipe in it. Where can I get that pipe if it then did not come with the kit? Sorry if I offended anyone but I was just lookin forward to havin the exhaust on.
There were two different Duratec kits made and sold through FRPP, The first kits included a front section with a flange on it similar to what's in that picture.

It was replaced by a kit with the stepped down pipe that you see in the lower section of the pic, they did that because Ford added a second cat to the system and the Borla had to fit the car without deleting the second cat.

So the later ones you'd cut the stock pipe behind the cat and use the clamp in section behind it. The Duratec cars also had a differently shaped large muffler than the Zetec and SVT versions.

I've had more than a few of these kits go through my department and I've had access to all of them and the different variants.

The kit Randy sold you was complete. You're not missing anything.

By the way, if you do call the tech line (like I did the first time this came up) they'll tell you they were aware that the picture was wrong but it was never changed.

Oh, well I apologize for any accusations I made. I was just a little upset that I couldn't just bolt it up. So I just cut it behind the stock resonator?

Thanks Steve for doing some research on this, and again i apologize for looking like a Dbag. hopefully it was understandable that I'd be worried about not having pieces to something I bought.

The guys took the time to get you the correct information for a couple of reasons. First off, we know Randy is a stand up, good guy. Second, getting you the information was necessary to clear the air, get things straight, and ensure all parties were/are satisfied.

While other can chime in, I think you are good to go. You might have jumped the gun a little bit and with explanation this is understandable. We've all been there.

Personally I'd swing by a good muffler shop and have them look at it, Don't just go getting all crazy with the hacksaw :D

Yea, I don't know where you're out of, but "The Muffler Shop" in Hudson does great work, and they usually can go cash no tax work too.

Also, When the guys with the funny colored names all start getting in on something, its usually time to start listening a bit early. :lol:

haha, I hear ya. I'm down in Mankato so I'll maybe be seeing if there's someone down here. Both my roommates are automotive engineering majors and probably have some hook ups.

Justgo to your local exhaust shop. It will be done professionaly (not saying your buddys cant do it) but it will be (kind of) warrentied. So if their weld cracks... they will fix it kind of thing.

Save the money, you won't need any welding. Just lay the system out under the car and figure out where you need to cut. Then, clamp on the new one. 8)

Got it almost finished. Just the tip left to put on. Cordless drill ran out of juice and that metal you have to drill in to, behind the bumper is some pretty strong stuff!

I just cut it about 2 inches off the resonator, and then trimmed the other piece about 6" and it all slid together.

The sound my car makes made me love it sooo much more. I'm thinking I want to add more rasp, and rather than cut the stock resonator out I want to go with a ORP. But am going to wait for enough money for a tune at the same time.
