no shit. My 18s I picked up are wide as hell. 215/35R18. Even tho they say they are 215, they are still an inch wider then my 215/45R17 tires. I still don't understand that.

Heres a comparison photo. I don't know why the sizes are so different, but my 17's rubbed, so I'll be lucky if these don't.

well they differ cus....215/45/17= the first number is the width, the second number is teh hight as a percentage of the width and teh r17 is the size...take 215 and divide by 45% and you get the width.......i may be getting this mixed up as i am drinking turk so if im wrong you can juggle ma nuts!!!!

As far as I know, this is how they do tires...

The 215 is supposed to be the section width. As in 215mm surface patch wide.

Teh second number is supposed to be the aspect ratio of the surface width. As for my 17" tires, 215/45R17. The side wall is 45% of 215. With that being in mind, both the 17s and 18s, are 215s. Which, to me, would think they both would have been the same width. 215mm. But they aren't.

But all well, back on topic...

so my tires are infact 225/40's so I as waaaaaay off. Anyways These are what I am lookin at so far:

General Exclaim UHP's (ultra high performance summer tires, have great reviews) http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp ... es&place=1

Those are $79/tire from tirerack, with $42 2-day shipping, So $358 which means I'd need to find a cheap place to get them mounted up.

Next up is Falken Ziex ZE-512's I had these on my old focus, loved the tires, nice and quiet and great wet road performance.
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direc ... d=18&ar=40

$94/tire from Discount Tire Direct (or $115 from discount tire not sure why there's a huge diff in price, same company) and with FREE shipping, comes out to $376 total to my front door.

or finally Kuhmo Escta ASX also from tirerack
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp ... es&place=3

$88/tire or $394 shipped.

Right now leaning towards the Falkens or the generals, I like the reviews that the generals have, just don't know about the tread wear on them.

any thoughts?

Yo Josh, I'd say go with the Falkens.

Saturn will mount and ballance a set of 4 for $50. That's the price including tire disposal, so it may be cheaper if you don't have old tires to get rid of. That's where I've gone for almost all of my mounting needs because everywhere else wants to charge me at least $20 more. I had one place quote me $110. Nucking futs.

Any particular reason? I know the falkens where great on my sedan SPI, but those where also 16" wheels not 18's. So I'm still unsure.

Best quote I've gotten so far is $15/tire for mounting.

Last time I heard that only applied to tires if you bought them from sams club.
