Every think of getting upgraded bushings? If you get the rid fitment, it actually adds to teh stiffness of the bar, without swapping. In theory, it adds 1mm to the bar...

Interesting... I've got new OEM ones I just put in the Cougar, are you talking like urethane? I could do that before I have it aligned since I'm waiting on some custom LCAs.

I'm not sure how the Cougar and Contour sways mount, but you don't loose the alignment when you unbolt the sway. Or at least on the Focus anyway. It only takes 10min to swap out the endlinks...

You're probably right, but on the front of the Contour/Cougar I can't get the sways out without dropping the subframe partially. Crappy, I know. I'm sure that would eff up my alignment nicely.

I only use the endlinks on the rear. And I just put in a new sway on the front of the wagon, since it just unbolts, nothing else is un done, so it does'nt lose your alignment settings. of course your chassis may be different.

No, you won't need an alignment after changing bars or bushings unless more of the car has to come apart.

Yeah I know I have to lower the subframe part way to get the brackets for the sway bar out. It might not screw up the alignment but I'd rather play it safe and just get it done before the alignment.
