Has anyone ever heard of doing the CSVT engine swap with the Focus, sedan, wagon, or hatchback? I've heard ppl talk about it but never actually seen it. Does anyone know anything about it?

It's been done. I toyed around with the idea when my motor popped last summer.

There are no 'kits' to do it though. It takes a TON of fabrication (motor mounts, tubing, wire harness work, etc.) The wiring has to be completely re-done, recute and splice pretty much the entire wire harness etc. Not any great way to get it tuned either.

Possible, but hard. Also there is no room left in the bay to ever do anything else to the motor.

I figured it was cheaper to swap in a fresh zetec block and add boost for the same power and the ability to add more if I needed/wanted.

There's a reason only 3 swaps were ever done like this. Like Pappy said it's a ton of work to do the swap. ZX3Tuning originally was trying to create a kit based on their yellow car but in the end figured it was far too expensive to try to create the kit and market it.

I would advise that you stay away from that engine. Any repairs on that thing suck.

just go with the svtf swap, you only need to cut at the fuel pump ,then yank the harness out, put in the svt harness, change a few connectors, get rid of the abs crap( unless you have abs already then its easier to leave it) bolt it all to gether slam it with 8 psi and a good tune and clutch, and have fun with your 300 horse svt zx3 hybrid. 8)
