hey guys.
Well, I got my 3-3/4" tachometer from Summit Racing. $50 shipped to my door. Feels solid and has the features I wanted.
The "bling bling" bezzle I dislike but that's and easy scuffpad-pad and rattle-can fix. It's a little bigger than I thought it would be but no biggy (npi'd)
I'm still waiting on my tach-adapter (for coil-on plug ignition systems) that I bought on a the jet forum. For now, no wiring is done. I just had the urge to go do something to my car since it's nice outside.
Opinions welcome.
I feel like a genuine ricer now!
I think a giant fake CF wing and dragon graphics are next!
It would cost too much money to swap out the stock cluster and have it reprogrammed ($250+ for everything)
and the stock upshift indicator is a joke; it kicks in way too early. I like knowing exactly how my car is running so a oil pressure, fuel pressure, wideband, and vac gauge may all be in the future (or a digital reader to show all of them)

The upshift indicator is actually there to optimize fuel economy.
I can almost gaurantee that if you can manage to shift exactly when the light tells you to for an entire tank of gas you'll probably get the best mileage you've ever gotten out of the car.
I'd be the wrong person to do it though since I could never stick to following the light and besides the SVT doesn't have one

lol. lucky dog.
my friends laugh at my little shift light in the dash.
I drive the car damnit, it doesnt drive me!
GRAWWRRRR

yea but my high-volume music and hard driving makes me think I still need some kind of shift light just in case I'm not paying attention. but for the vast majority of reasoning for this (if that makes sense) I did this for a tach, not a little light.

nah, I tried that before. It would do crazy, crazy things. I tried following it once, it had me in 5th gear at 20 mph. The real reason the light is there, is because for whatever reasoning, the gov't adds a couple mpg to their rating if the car has a light.
