Nightshade on chrome could be a disaster. Pretty sure you could sand it down and paint it though. I like the 2nd pic... looks wierd badgeless

Dupli-color clear primer, and then smoke dupli-color metalcast.

You can't just paint over the chrome. It won't stick. You'll need to steel wool or scratchy pad it, then paint it. And you'll need a primer to even stick to that. Like a plasitc primer.

I'm not saying it won't work, but I am saying " I told you so", and you'll have a disaster at hand with smoke.

Besides, a color matched LG grille with silver mesh would look better anyway.

Painted my Chrome grill Red, sanded it down with 400 so every inch of it was roughed up then cleaned the surfaces with acetone used duplicolor primer then paint. I haven't finished it yet I will need to do some in between coat sanding then clear and final paint finishing.

Should look good on your car...

But like Brian said, you need to sand that chrome off. And if you do that, your gonna lose the Hyper Black finesh your after. Just shoot it Liquid Grey.

I might just paint it black..I kinda like the look...if it ends up bad i'll just buy a color matched one.

do like we did with the bimmer, don't prep it, clean it, or anything. just paint over the chrome part while the grill is still on the car, without anything tapped off of course! god that turned out like crap
