It's the infamous SVT rattle, It's mainly just annoying.
Does yours do it all the time or only sometimes?
Any clutch slippage?

Yeah, mine does the same thing....You learn to deal with that, as well as the crazy slippage. Unless you're not poor like me, and you can afford a replacement.

Is the rattle due to the dual mass set up? First thing I thought about would be a throw out bearing rattling away when it had little or not load on it but once you depress the clutch and load it up it will quiet down until of course as you guys have stated BAM.

If you want to hear rattle listen to my 6-puck. Now that fucker rattles.
P.S. You should just sell me your ZX5 SVT so you don't have to deal with that anymore. Seriously.

my father works for a ford dealership and we looked it up on their system... it seems to be premature clutch wear caused by bad alightment in the transmission... not sure how that would have happened.... but ford recommends you top off the transmission fluid as step one.... after that the tranny gets taken out... so im gonna live with it for now.

Sounds like gear rollover or whatever. It's normal with just about any performance clutch.

just wiat till you corner hard and it sticks in gear...or wont go in gear till you blip the foot feed. yeah the rattle is the stup--indis dual mass pyle of crap..... i mean christ, shoulda made it outta concrete, it woulda been lighter.
the stock svt clutch engages like a bag of warm dog poo..... i love it when it shifts normal then it will engage when the pedal is like nannometers from the floor, or my fave...it grinds and then popps into gear like i didnt push the cluth in. so im thinkin about a mtx5 in the future.

no just the ones that come with the ass backwerds clutch on the getreg. they all do it sooner or later, no springs on the friction but springs on the flywheel.....just dont make sense to me.Arsenal741 wrote:----just wiat till you corner hard and it sticks in gear...or wont go in gear till you blip the foot feed. yeah the rattle is the stup--indis dual mass pyle of crap..... i mean christ, shoulda made it outta concrete, it woulda been lighter. the stock svt clutch engages like a bag of warm dog poo..... i love it when it shifts normal then it will engage when the pedal is like nannometers from the floor, or my fave...it grinds and then popps into gear like i didnt push the cluth in. so im thinkin about a mtx5 in the future.----
