OK, Wife's 2000 ZX3 tossed 3 codes today. One was a cat efficiency, one was injector circuit #10, so I don't care about those ones. The third one was C1140. The only thing I can find for that is a description that says "Hydraulic Base Brake Failure" I have no idea what that means and my manual doesn't have the chassis codes listed. I haven't been able to find anything other than that description on Google or the other forums. Anybody have any idea what I should be looking at, here?

I've cleared the codes, but frankly I don't want her driving the car until I can figure out what that one is.

I just did a search on fmcdealer and that code does not exist on a 2000 ford focus. Are you sure that you received the right code?

It's definitely the code I got, but I'm starting to think it was a fluke like the one for injector #10. Is fmcdealer a resource available to the general public?

How did you pull the codes?

fmcdealer (ford motor company dealer) is only available to ford employees. Usually if someone posts a question I try to help using ford's repair site

Yeah, that's what I had in my original post. That isn't much of a description and it doesn't show up in my manual for troubleshooting steps. That's probably because, as per FocusMech, it's not a valid code for a 2000 Focus. Just like how I can't possibly have a problem with the injector circuit for cylinder #10, I'm going to assume this one was tossed in error. I've gotten erroneous codes before.
