You have to be hopeful for your kids, they claim. Seems it's a situation where you have to ware 2 faces. One that is confident with them at all times, in that you have taught them well enough that they will make competent decisions that are for the best. The other you share with your spouse, concerns about their abilities, well-being, mental state and such.
Weather you know it or not, you are a good parent and are making the best decisions for their future. This all started with having a child, planned or not. The decision to keep a child is the correct one always, IMO. They are about the only symbol of human love left in this defunct world. The fact that at one point you loved this world enough to share it with a new life only shows that there is still somethings you enjoy and want them to experience. Concentrate on those things and be sure they share in them with you.
I only hope that someday I'll have a child that I can share my joys with.
