Sorry I haven't had a chance to e-mail ya back.

It's pretty simple. You will need to buy or build an engine brace (to hold the engine in place, since you have to remove two of the motor mounts).

Otherwise, just jack the car up. pull the hubs (with brakes still in tact), off of the struts and pull them aside. You will need to remove the big axel nut to do this. (Do this on both sides).

Pull your axles out.

Remove rear motor mount.

Remove passenger, tranny mount (also take the mount 'base' off).

Back out the subframe bolts, so you can hang the subframe down a bit for clearance.

Take your shifter cables off.

Unplug any wire harness's that go to the tranny.

Unbolt all the bell housing bolts (I always put mine in cardboard, so I remember where they went and which way they went...)

Pull the tranny off and out.

It's really not to bad. I'd say it'll probably take a good 4-5 hours to get it out (seeing how its your first) and about the same going in. If you cleared a whole weekend, and started on a friday evening, I think that would be plenty of time.

I'll help ya if I'm free when you are working on it, but can't make any promises I'll be free. On focaljet.com there are better tutorials then the crap one I just wrote, with pictures, so head over there. Also grab a hanes or chilton manual if you haven't. You'll need this is you get hung up on anything and for torque settings.

pretty straight foreword. the svt trans is a little different in size than the mtx-75. youll be ok with out the motor brace. a tall jack stand and three shop rags rolled into a roll and duct taped to the jack stand placed inbetween the tans and oil pan( should be a flat spot there)should do the trick on the cheap. pull the batt out. remove any and all related stuff( recogmend a chiltons or comparable manule to walk you through). lift car. remove axles. unbolt trns from motor while a friend with a floor jack helps. lower trans r and r clutch. reverse to install.

It's nothing to be scared of. If Tony and I are free I'm sure we can both come, With both done clutches in these cars a good half dozen times between us haha.

This last time, I did my clutch in about 8 hours total, on my garage floor with hand tools. I did it in two 4 hours sittings (as I pulled it all apart before the new stuff had even shipped, haha).

It really isn't all that bad. Just pull shit out till the tranny falls out ;)

Yes you will. Post on FJ, I'm not sure if its the same type of fluid and amount for the getrag. For ours I run 2 quarts of GM syncromesh.
